Sharon Steen, Owner, Manager and Certified Pharmacy Technician
Having had a special interest in compounding medications and hormone replacement for many years, Sharon has become very knowledgable in this field.  Sharon, her pharmacy and her staff have been featured in several television shows and commercials, including the The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Doctors with Robin McGraw as the special host. (See our Media page for video clips of the shows).  Sharon has worked at Central Pharmacy for so many years (yes…since 1987) and knows most regular customers personally. “Working here is like having one big extended family! Nahal Hakim, Pharmacist (Traditional and Compounding)
was raised in Santa Monica. She graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Biology and then attended USC Pharmacy School, from which she graduated with her doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2000. After working for a pharmacy chain for 5 years (ugh), she joined the team at Central Pharmacy where she has worked as a pharmacist since October 2000. Nahal loves the warm environment and personal service we give at Central Pharmacy. Nahal has a strong interest in specialty compounding and customized hormone replacement therapy in which she has received extensive training in training seminars through Gallipot, Inc. and P.C.C.A.(two of the best compounding companies in the US).  Nahal is always interested in learning more about the benefits of compounding and about being able to offer alternative dosage forms like sublingual tablets and transdermal creams.

Marjan Yermian, Compounding Pharmacist, Hormone Specialist
grew up here in Santa Monica. She first earned a degree in Neuroscience from UCLA. Her first job in a pharmacy was that of a part time clerk. She then proceeded to earn a Pharmacy Technician license, after which she practiced in four different pharmacies on the UCLA campus while studying and doing research at the university. Marjan enjoyed working with people and helping patients so much that she headed to USC Pharmacy School, where she earned a doctorate degree in pharmacy sciences in
in 2003. In her years of practicing, Marjan has realized her dream of being part of the healthcare team and helping to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes for her patients. Her specialty is in hormone replacement therapy for women. She has been working with patients and doctors since 2005 and takes great pride in helping to improve women’s (and men’s) quality of life. Furthermore, Marjan’s love of animals has fueled a desire to widen her specialty to include all kinds of furry friends. Pets can have many of the same medication needs as we people do, and Marjan hopes to help as many as she can. More than anything, Marjan is excited to be part of the Central Pharmacy family, where she is a very important member of the team.

Jackie Elias, Head Pharmacy Technician / Assistant Manager,
has worked at Central Pharmacy since 2004. She was initially hired as a front desk clerk but quickly moved into a technician position. She has learned the “ins and outs” of insurance billing and can tackle any problem placed before her. She passed her Technician Certification Exam in 2007 and is considered an expert in her field. Jackie’s positive outlook and bubbly personality make her a joy to work with. Oh yes…and that fantastic smile we all love to see!

Erika Nevarez-Gonzalez, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Billing Specialist
was one of Central Pharmacy’s original Technicians during the expansion of 1998. She then took several years off to raise her two young boys. In 2009, we were more than happy to welcome Erika back as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Erika has a great understanding of pharmacy work. She knows how to “multi-task” amazingly well and keep the fast pace moving in an organized fashion. A great friend to us all…and a vital part of the team here at the Pharm!

AnneMarie Burkhart, Pharmacy Technician, Vitamin Order Specialist
completed her Pharmacy Technician course in 2003 and has been working with the Central Pharmacy team since 2008. She always gives excellent customer service with a smile. Anne is also in charge of vitamin/supplement/personal care orders and keeps the shipping department incredibly organized. A wonderful personality and an amazing work ethic has made her a leader in our multi-faceted team of technicians.

Lee Walker,  Pharmacy Technician, Customer Service Specialist.
just can’t seem to stay away from Central Pharmacy! She was first hired in 1995 as a delivery-person/front-desk clerk, then left to work for a group of UCLA doctors as a receptionist. After having her first child, she returned to Central Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Clerk. Two years later she left to have her daughter, and three years later, she was back again! Lee has become a Certified Pharmacy Technician and is currently in charge of customer service and filling prescriptions. Lee also has a strong interest in compounding and is often assisting the compounding team. Her positive attitude and great sense of humor helps us all get through the day on a positive note!

Tracy Holton, Compounding Pharmacy Technician
has 6 years of experience as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician and has worked at Central Pharmacy since 2008. She learned how to compound at another pharmacy and transferred those skills over to us!  Tracy has many responsiblities, such as compounding creams, suppositories, troches, and lots and lots of capsules! Her ability to work well with others has helped her excel as the leader of “Team Compounding”!

Edna Busto, Compounding Technician,
has 5 years of experience as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician and joined the compounding team in January 2008. Edna worked with Tracy before coming to Central Pharmacy, and the two of them together help create an organized, fast-paced workflow. She is a very important asset to the pharmacy and absolutely loves working here! (and we love her too!)

Wilmer Chua, Certified Pharmacy Technician,
is Central Pharmacy’s only male employee (poor guy..) and works with “the girls” in the compounding department. He always has a great attitude and brings his innovative ideas into the lab quite often.

An amazing worker..he has become an invaluable team player!

Mira Schiff, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Veterinary Marketing Sp.
is a Los Angeles native with a BA in communications from Cal State Northridge. She has been a Certified Pharmacy Technician since 2005 and had worked in a few local pharmacies before transferring to Central Pharmacy in 2008. “Working at Central Pharmacy is a wonderful experience with a diverse range of learning opportunites — from compounding medications and learning about natural medicines to working with traditional western medications.” Mira is a delight to work with and always offers a smile to everyone she sees!

Jasmine Richmond, Marketing Specialist

Jasmine has recently taken the position as Marketing Manager in 2011 and is excited about spreading the word about our expertise in compounding through outside sales and marketing. Before that, she has worked the front desk at Central Pharmacy for the better part of 7 years, taking time off to build her professional Astrology practice, and other varied interests.
