- Sharon Steen, CPhT
Sharon Steen began her career as a technician at a hospital Pharmacy in 1985 in Portland Oregon.
She attended the University of Oregon (go Ducks!)with a major in Medical Science and then Portland State University majoring in Business Administration.Sharon worked as a hospital pharmacy technician in Tualatin, Oregon where she first fell in love with the profession of Pharmacy.
In 1987 she moved to Los Angeles with her husband Dave who is a C.P.A.
In 1992 Sharon became an owner of Central Pharmacy. Over the next few years, she turned it from a “prescription only” little store into a diverse, modern pharmacy with a variety of gifts and supplements. In 2009 the Pharmacy moved into a larger space just 5 blocks away from the original store. The larger Pharmacy could now allow for an expansive laboratory area needed for the growing Compounding portion of the business.
In 2005, Sharon completed her P.C.C.A. certification course in compounding techniques in Houston, Texas. In addition, she has attended multiple educational seminars on Customized Hormone Replacement Therapy, Pain Management, Dermatology and Veterinary Medicine compounding and is constantly keeping herself updated on the most current literature in these very specialized fields.
Also an avid animal lover (3 dogs and 2 cats!), Sharon has been certified in Veterinary Compounding which is a very specialized field in Compounding Pharmacy. Central Pharmacy currently works with many Vet Clinics in Santa Monica and West L.A.
