We are a privately owned, historic pharmacy in Santa Monica, California. Although we have many long time, regular customers from the neighborhood, we also make deliveries and offer nationwide shipping.
Of course we can fill any kind of standard prescription. But our specialty is the “compounding” of medications. This means the customized mixing of medications for each patient.
Because of our special expertise in this area, we have been featured on television several times, for instance on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Doctors with Robin McGraw.
Compounding offers numerous advantages in medication compliance. For instance, the dosage can be more carefully controlled. It can even be adjusted during the course of treatment. We can eliminate unwanted components that may cause side effects or are unnecessary fillers and additives.
Did you know that many pills can be replaced by topical creams, so that the medication is absorbed through the skin? And did you know that compounding can often reduce overall treatment costs?
Our lab is is fully equipped with the highest quality ingredients and equipment needed to make your customized prescription accurately every time. And of course, our staff has special training and credentials for compounding.
Central Pharmacy also routinely sends out samples of our compounds to an independent laboratory in Houston, TX for potency analysis. This allows us to be confident that we are dispensing the proper dose of medication that has been ordered by your Physician.

Insurance Plans Accepted
Central Pharmacy is contracted with most insurance plans. We will bill your HMO or PPO directly at the time the prescription is filled.
Co-pays and deductibles may vary depending on your individual plan.
Hours of Operation
Central pharmacy is open from 9:00am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Closed on Saturday and Sunday and ALL major holidays.
Please leave a message on our after-hours voice-mail if you’d like to pick up your prescription before we open on the next business day.
Delivery Information
We offer delivery service in the Santa Monica area each weekday starting at 2:00pm.
If your address is outside of Santa Monica we can either mail or Fed-Ex your medicine to you. You are responsible for postage or delivery fees. We will accept credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, Discover).
